Hornets prevail in fifth round tie

Town exited the FA Youth Cup in the fifth round this evening following a 4-1 defeat against Watford.

Thomas Hughes (pictured) was on target for Blues at Wingate and Finchley but the Hornets progressed to the quarter-finals thanks to three first-half goals.

Adem Atay's Town side found themsevles behind inside five minutes as Jayden Bennetts finished impressively with his left foot.

Watford's Ryan Cassidy then bagged a brace approaching the half-hour mark, his second coming from the penalty spot.

Hughes gave Blues a glimmer of hope when he struck in the 34th minute.

It remained that way until half-time but with 65 minutes played Bennetts netted his second to send Watford through.
