U18 | COLCHESTER 3 TOWN 3

15 October 2018

Hughes hits hat-trick but Blues have to settle for a point

Town's U18s drew 3-3 with Colchester United at Florence Park on Saturday morning.

Thomas Hughes netted a second-half hat-trick as Adem Atay's side were denied the win deep into stoppage time.

The hosts went ahead early thanks to Noah Chilvers, but Hughes equalised with a first-time effort early in the second half.

United restored their advantage through Lordon Akolbire, but once again Hughes levelled, this time with a well-timed header.

And the away side took the lead for the first time when Hughes completed his hat-trick with a cool finish from the penalty spot.

But Colchester denied Town all three points when Chilvers fired in his second of the game in the final moments.
