U23 | CHARLTON V TOWN

27 November 2017

Young side to face the Addicks

A young Town squad will travel to face Charlton Athletic at Greenwich Borough this afternoon as they look to make it five games unbeaten (kick-off 1pm).

Ben Morris, who scored a late equaliser for the Blues in their last game, a 2-2 draw with Millwall, will be part of the travelling squad, as will top scorer Ben Folami.

James Blanchfield, who has missed a large chunk of the action so far this season, will return while Luke Woolfenden, who made his first-team debut at Luton in the Carabao Cup earlier this season, is also making the trip.

Town and Charlton currently sit fourth and fifth respectively in the southern group of the Professional Development League having both attained 21 points so far, although the Addicks have played one game more.

U23 | CHARLTON 1 TOWN 1

27 November 2017

Late goal denies Town all three points

A late equaliser denied Town's U23s all three points against Charlton at Greenwich Borough this afternoon.

Conor McKendry put Town in front with just under 20 minutes on the clock as he cut in from the right before finding the corner with a powerful effort.

The Addicks were then on top, and Harry Wright had to produce a number of saved to keep the score level, although Monty Patterson should have made it 2-0 from a McKendry cut-back, but he put it over the bar.

As time ran out, Charlton levelled as Alex Willis met a dangerous free-kick from out wide with a glancing header that Harry Wright couldn't keep out, to ensure the hosts took a share of the spoils.
