Town back to winning ways with a 2-1 win at Lod
Ben Folami scored an unbelievable winner as Town's U23s defeated QPR at Loftus Road this afternoon.
The Aussie scored from inside his own half just past the hour mark with what proved to be the decisive goal after Monty Patterson had given the Blues a first-half lead.
The R's perhaps had the best of the game, and Gerard Nash's side had to rely on Michael Crowe to keep the scores level early on, as he tipped a long-range Michael Petrasso shot over the bar.
It was Town who went in front as Kiwi international, Patterson confidently slotted home a through ball by Shane McLoughlin to give his side the lead at the break.
QPR did have the ball in the net after the restart as Aramide Oteh turned in Kazenga LuaLua's cross, but it was ruled out for offside.
It proved to be a vital moment as Folami doubled the Blues' lead soon after. Town's top scorer picked the ball up behind the half-way line, spotted the home 'keeper off his line, audaciously lobbed him.
The hosts were unfortunate to be 2-0 down, but twice came close to getting on the scoresheet, with Oteh hitting the crossbar before Sean Goss curled a shot just wide.
As the R's pushed, Folami almost added a third on the counter, but he slid his effort off target.
There was to be a consolation, however, and Oteh's persistence paid off as he scored late on from 20 yards.
A consolation was all it was, as Town claimed all three points from Loftus Road
