BOSS AWARE OF BLACKPOOL THREAT

24 August 2012

Play-Off heartache could help the Seasiders warns Paul

Paul Jewell is aware of the danger provided by a wounded Blackpool as Town travel to Bloomfield Road this weekend.

Ian Holloway’s side missed out on an instant return to the Premier League after losing to West Ham in the Play-Off final last season but have responded in style with two wins from their opening two Championship games.

Live commentary of the 90 minutes is available on Ipswich Player. For full details of the service that takes you closer to the action than ever before, click on the Ipswich Player icon on the homepage.

“Ollie [Holloway] has gone a fantastic job there. They have got some very good young players, as well as one who is not so young in Kevin Phillips! They have got a group of players who have been together for two or three years now so we know what a difficult game it’s going to be.”

“Blackpool have used the pain they experienced to a positive effect in the way they have started this season.

“I can remember when I was at Wigan, we lost out on a place in the Play-Offs with virtually the last kick of the season but we used the pain of that disappointment to drive us on through the following summer and the season and ended up getting promoted.

“Sometimes there can be a hangover from losing in the Play-Offs, and sometimes it can have the opposite effect,” the Town boss told the Club website.
