We finshed the stronger says Paul after opener
Paul Jewell felt Town were worth at least a point after Blues opened the Championship campaign with a 1-1 draw against Blackburn.
Colin Kazim-Richards gave the visitors a first-half lead but Town responded through an own goal from Jason Lowe and finished the game on top.
“It was unbelievably hot out there and it wasn’t a great game but I think we deserved at least a point,” the Town boss told Ipswich Player.
“They are a team packed with Premier League and international players and when you go a goal down, you know it’s going to be tough but we kept going and we finished the stronger team.
“We were disappointed with the goal we conceded. Another set-piece and people didn’t mark players but I’m pleased with the effort we showed and we did well to get something out of the game.
“We played the ball through the middle a bit too much and when we did get it out wide, perhaps the quality wasn’t as good as we would have liked but it was a good ball in for the goal and like I said, we could have won it at the end.”
