Praise for display and Blue Army as Watford jinx is ended

Paul Jewell paid tribute to the Blue Army after a Michael Chopra goal gave Town a first win over Watford in 16 games.

Close on 1500 Blues’ fans made the trip to Vicarage Road to see Town deservedly take all three points, with Chops’ close range finish coming on 90 minutes.

“Some of the football we played, especially in the first-half was excellent,” said the Town boss.

“You can see there is a togetherness in the squad. That is evident on the pitch. We passed the ball well and I’m enjoying watching us play.

“Watford are a bogey team for us so it’s nice to put that to bed. It’s great for the fans to have something to smile about when going to work tomorrow as well. To see so many of them following the team tonight gives everyone such a lift. It’s fantastic support.”
