Town out to wipe out Blackpool memories

Paul Jewell has welcomed the chance for his players to put Saturday’s defeat at Blackpool behind them in tonight’s Capital One Cup tie at Carlisle.

“Saturday night wasn’t an enjoyable one obviously but you have to dust yourself down and go again and that’s what we will do,” Paul told the Club website.

The squad trained at Fleetwood on Monday and have been based in the north west for the four days, avoiding 24 hours spent travelling backwards and forwards for the two games.

“We can’t change what happened at Blackpool. We can learn from the mistakes – we have to learn – but we have to move on and that means showing a positive reaction against Carlisle.

“It will be a difficult game, we know that but when you have lost a game like we did on Saturday, you want the opportunity as soon as possible to go out there and put on a performance.” Kick-off at Brunton Park is 7.45pm with live commentary on Ipswich Player.
