CRESSY HAILS TOWN RESILIENCE

14 August 2012

Goalscorer delighted to see Blues progress in Cup

Aaron Cresswell praised the resilience of his Town teammates as Blues came from behind to book their place in the second round of the Capital One Cup with a 3-1 home win over Bristol Rovers.

The left-back scored Town’s third goal of the evening, after earlier strikes from Jason Scotland and Tommy Smith had cancelled out Michael Smith’s opener for Rovers.

“I think on the basis of the game we deserved the win and we passed it around nicely at times,” the left-back told the Club website.

“We showed good character to bounce back even though we went behind and we just carried on playing the way we know we can do and in the end I feel deserved the win.”

Town open the Championship season on Saturday when Blues entertain Blackburn at Portman Road, kick-off 3pm.
