'Keeper helps us preview the Hornets
Scott Loach is relishing his return to Vicarage Road tonight, but admits taking three points for Town is the only thing on the agenda.
The ‘keeper moved to Portman Road from Watford in the summer and is excited to meet up with a few familiar faces yet admits his sole focus is now on Town.
“It’s funny how football works out and I’m going back to Watford so soon, but I think it will be great,” said Scott in an exclusive interview for Ipswich Player.
“I’ve got to go back there eventually and I’m looking forward to it.
“The main thing is getting three points for Ipswich though. I’m an Ipswich player now and my focus is helping the Club finish as high as possible.
“I know it’s been a long time since Town last beat Watford but if we put in the same level of performance as we did against Blackburn, then I see no reason why that statistic can’t change tonight.”
You can hear more from Scott on his return to Vicarage Road, as well as get the thoughts of assistant manager Chris Hutchings, in our Kick-Off show on Ipswich Player now.
Town will be without long-term injury victim Elliott Hewitt for the trip to Hertfordshire, with the defender still sidelined with a hip injury, but other than that Paul Jewell should have a full strength squad to choose from. Scott Loach is expected to continue in goal as he makes his first return to Vicarage Road since leaving the Hornets for Town in the summer.
Watford boss Gianfranco Zola may name an unchanged team from the side that beat Crystal Palace on the opening day of the season. Fitz Hall, Stephen McGinn, Steve Leo Beleck, Daniel Pudil and Alex Geijo will all be pushing for an inclusion in the starting line-up as they make their way back to full fitness.
