Midfielder aiming to win a new deal

Andy Drury says he is hoping to win a new contract at Town but for now he’s focussed on his football.

The midfielder, whose current deal at Portman Road comes to an end in the summer, says he has not been in discussions about his future yet but is in no doubts where he’d like to be playing his football next season.

Speaking in an interview in tomorrow’s matchday programme against Brighton. Andy says: “Of course I would like to stay because Ipswich is a great club but I don’t know what is happening on that front to be honest.

“Nobody has spoken to me about a new contract and obviously with Mick coming in there has been a lot of change at the Club.

“I’m just concentrating on my football and we will just wait and see what happens with that as the season progresses. But, like I said, I would love to stay here as I’m really enjoying myself.”

The digital version of the matchday programme is available now, with interviews with Elliott Hewitt, Stephen Henderson and Jay Emmanuel-Thomas included, plus Mick McCarthy on January signings and keeping DJ Campbell.
