We were on top when they scored their second says Mick

Mick McCarthy was disappointed Town left Elland Road with nothing after watching his side go down 2-0 to Leeds.

Blues had chances but the Whites took the points through goals from Jerome Thomas and Paul Green.

“Anyone looking at that result in the paper in the morning with think it’s a routine win for Leeds but it certainly wasn’t that,” said the Town boss.

“We played well and were on top in the second-half. Their fans were getting edgy, their bench was getting edgy but then they scored a quality second goal. It was a good ball in and a terrific finish.

“I’m disappointed because we played well. It was a bad goal to give away, the first one from a corner and even when it was 2-0, we had chances.

“Chops had a great chance and there is no one you would want more than him to have the ball in that situation but it wasn’t to be.

“We’ve had a great run but we were never going to win game after game. We have to try and put another run together now.”
