Blue relishing facing his friend and foe in Millwall attack

Tommy Smith is relishing taking on his friend and international team-mate Chris Wood when Town take on Millwall at the weekend.

Wood - on loan at the Den from West Brom – has scored seven goals in the last nine games and has played a leading role in Millwall’s 13 game unbeaten run that has seen them climb into the Play-Off places.

He looks set to lead the attack for Kenny Jackett’s side and that could mean a head to head clash against his New Zealand colleague.

“Chris is a good mate of mine and it will be good to come up against him on Saturday if we are both playing,” Tommy told the Club website.

“He’s scoring goals for fun at the moment and he’s definitely one player we will have to keep an eye on.

“I wish him all the best after Saturday but for the 90 minutes I hope he doesn’t get a kick!”

Millwall are also likely to include former Blue, Liam Trotter, in their side with Tommy adding: “Trotts is doing well for them and it will be good to see him too. They are on a fantastic run but we’ve also performed well in our last couple of games so it should be a good battle.”
