Blues had agreed a longer stay for on-loan defender but he could now depart Portman Road
Town look set to miss out on extending Danny Higginbotham’s stay at Portman Road, following interest from another club.
Mick McCarthy had agreed a deal with Stoke and the defender to extend his loan with the Blues but the 35 year-old could now be on his way, as he seeks a move closer to his home.
“We had agreed a deal with Danny to stay but there has been interest in him from other clubs,” the Town boss told the Club website.
“That comes as no surprise as he’s a terrific professional and that’s why we wanted to keep him here.
“He wants the chance to earn a permanent move and preferably something which is closer to his home.
“I can understand that and if it works out for him then I wish him all the best of luck.”
