BOSS ON 'KEEPER CHASE

18 July 2012

Paul closes in on new stopper

Paul Jewell says he is closing in on adding another goalkeeper to the squad.

Trialist Marian Kello played the second-half of Blues' 1-1 draw against Helmond Sport tonight as the pre-season campaign got underway.

The former Hearts 'keeper shared the 90 minutes between the sticks with Arran Lee-Barrett but after the 1-1 draw, the Town boss said: "We are getting close with another 'keeper.

"It's well known we have been chasing a new 'keeper for a while and we are getting there now.

"I'm confident but I know how these things go. Hopefully we can tie the deal up though very soon."

Marian will spend the week with the Club in Holland, with Paul adding: "He's an experienced 'keeper. He didn't have a lot to do tonight but he looked competent.

"I think he has had one or two offers from Turkey but we will see how things go."
