Boss hints at defender retaining armband

Paul Jewell has indicated that Carlos Edwards will retain the captaincy at Portman Road for next season."It's not really about who has the armband. It's about what you do out on the pitch and in and around the Club during the week.  That's what makes a leader."

"You don't have to wear the armband to be a leader and that's what we want Luke to be, a leader. Like everyone else, we want him to lead by example on the pitch..

"Carlos did brilliantly for us last year as skipper and the role seemed to add to his game.

New signing, Luke Chambers, skippered Nottingham Forest last season but while the Blues' boss sees the 26-year-old defender as a 'leader', he told the Club website: "I don't see any reason to change who wears the armband.

The Trinidad and Tobago international, the players' player of the year at Town last term, was handed the armband in February and skippered the team over the remaining two months of the campaign.
