LAYING DOWN SOME ROOTS

18 July 2012

New Blue Luke looking to settle in Suffolk

Luke Chambers has told the Club website that he is looking to lay down some roots in Suffolk, once he returns from Blues' pre-season tour of Holland.

The summer signing from Nottingham Forest made his first appearance in a Town shirt during last night's 1-1 draw with Helmond Sport and felt his new teammates adapted to the conditions well after an initial slow start.

"It was a good workout for us and I thought we looked a lot more solid after half-time," the defender told the Club website.

"Personally I felt a bit rusty at the start, but that's to be expected with it being the first game of pre-season.

"Once the tour is out of the way I'll be looking to get sorted with a place and the family will be coming down to join me.

"That's what I want and it will be good for me. Now I'm just concentrating on the challenges that lie ahead with Ipswich."
