Boss reserves special praise for goalscorer Chopra

Paul Jewell was satisfied with Town's opening pre-season game against Helmond Sport with Michael Chopra on target in the draw.

The former Cardiff frontman levelled the scores with a cool finish from 15 yards after Blues had gone in at the break a goal down.

"It's frustrating because you want everything right straightaway, though it never works like that," said the Town boss.

"The grass was long and we didn't really get going first-half but we sharpened it up after the break and overall it was okay. It's all about building up the fitness levels really and being ready for the start of the season.

"Chops has looked very sharp since we've been back. He went to a fitness camp in California with our fitness coach [Andy Liddell] and has worked hard in the close season. Hopeful we will see the benefits of that."
