Goalscorer feeling good as Blues record first win under new boss Mick McCarthy

DJ Campbell described the win over Birmingham as a ‘great feeling’ with Blues recording a first victory in 13 games to see Mick McCarthy get off to a winning start as manager.

The on-loan striker netted the only goal of the game after eight minutes to ensure Town left St Andrew’s with all three points.

“The lads have worked amazingly hard for the three points today and it’s a great feeling,” Town’s scorer told the Club website.

“Things haven’t quite gone for us recently and obviously it was disappointing when Paul (Jewell) left. But the new gaffer has come in along with TC (Terry Connor) and they’re both great coaches.

“We haven’t felt like this for a long time and it’s an amazing feeling. Now it’s time for us to kick on and start moving up the table.”
