Mick doesn't hide disappointment as Town crash at Leicester

Mick McCarthy described the display as embarrassing as Town crashed to a six goal defeat at the King Power Stadium.

Leicester were four up at the break and added further goals in the second-half as Blues were clearly second best.

David Nugent sent the Foxes on the way with a penalty in the first few minutes after Stephen Henderson was judged to have brought down Lloyd Dyer.

“I’m not sure if it was a penalty. I have not had a good look at it but it makes no odds, the ball should have been cleared before it got in the box,” said the Town boss.

“It was an embarrassing display. Awful to be honest. It hurts me. I pride my teams on being tough and hard to beat, well organised and with the ability to play as well. But you have to sort the first part of that out first.

“We are milky. We are brittle. But there is nothing I can do about that performance now. We will take the bones out of it and move forward to what is obviously a very important game against Peterborough next week.”
