KELLY OUT TO EXTEND STAY

13 November 2012

Defender turned down France chance for Town opportunity

Kelly Youga is hoping to take advantage of the opportunity he has been given at Town and extend his stay at Portman Road beyond January.

The 27-year-old defender has signed a short term contract with Blues and could make his first appearance in a Town shirt in tonight’s Suffolk Premier Cup tie against Walsham-Le-Willows.

“I have played against Ipswich many times and it’s a good club,” the former Charlton defender told Ipswich Player.

“I had the opportunity to come here on trial and now I’m here for two months. It’s a great chance for me and if I can stay longer than January, then I’d stay with pleasure.

“I know some of the players here already. Lee Martin was at Charlton when I was there and I know Bilel [Mohsni] and Guirane [N’Daw], from France. The French connection!

“I’m looking forward to my time here. I could have joined some clubs back home in France, clubs in the top division but I like England. This is where I want to play my football.”
