Hyam in fitness race as Nigel misses out on Reebok return

Luke Hyam is a doubt for Saturday’s game against Bolton and Nigel Reo-Coker definitely misses out.

Nigel was sidelined for the win over Nottingham Forest on Tuesday with a hamstring injury that is expected to keep him out for a couple of weeks.

Luke replaced the former Bolton midfielder in the starting line-up against Forest and scored his first goal for the Club in the 3-1 win.

The Academy graduate limped out of Portman Road after the game though with Blues’ boss Mick McCarthy telling the Club website this morning: “Luke is a concern for us for the weekend.

“He took a knock on his calf and won’t train today. He is young and fit though and we are confident he will make it.

“He will certainly want to play at Bolton after the way he played the other night.”
