Tommy reflects on Forest win and wants Town to follow that example for the rest of the season

Tommy Smith believes Town have laid down a marker for themselves, following the win over Nottingham Forest in midweek.

Blues turned in their best performance of the season to date, as goals from Guirane N’Daw, Luke Hyam and Daryl Murphy saw Town earn a 3-1 win at Portman Road.

Now defender Tommy is calling on his team-mates to follow that example for the rest of the season.

“It was a great win and performance over Forest in midweek and it sets up nicely for the weekend trip to Bolton,” the New Zealand international told the Club website.

“That’s set the standard for us now, I think, and you could see how hard the lads were working as a team.

“There weren’t just a few outstanding individual performances but a collection of solid group performances, which we need to keep producing if we want to move forward.

“Obviously it is nice to move out of the bottom three but we won’t be resting on our laurels. I think getting the win builds confidence more than anything and we are all looking forward to going again at the weekend.”
