TAYLOR REQUIRES SURGERY

Mick reveals that striker could miss the majority of the season with troublesome foot injury

Mick McCarthy has confirmed that striker Paul Taylor requires surgery for his foot injury and is likely to miss the majority of the season.

The August transfer window signing from Peterborough had made a bright start to his Town career, before being forced off through injury during September’s clash with Wolves at Portman Road.

“Surgery is needed for Paul, there’s no doubt about that,” Mick told the Club website.

“I feel for the lad because he’s a young boy progressing with his career and he’s unable to play. Obviously it’s disappointing for me, as it was for Paul (Jewell) but the emotions have to be with the player and it’s disappointing for him.

“He’s going to need surgery and I think we will be lucky if we see him again this season, unfortunately.”
