TYRONE RARING TO GO

26 November 2012

New Blue Barnett hoping to make Town debut against Forest tomorrow night

Tyrone Barnett is hoping to get the nod to make his Town debut tomorrow, admitting he is raring to go after taking on an ‘exciting challenge’ with Blues.

The striker arrived at Portman Road on loan from Peterborough last week, although was ineligible to play against his parent club on Saturday so had to settle for a place in the stands to watch the game.

Now the former Crawley and Macclesfield man is hoping to feature in tomorrow night’s clash with Nottingham Forest at Portman Road (kick-off 7.45pm).

“I’m feeling good and I’ve played quite a few games for Peterborough this season, so I’m fit and ready to play if selected,” Tyrone told the Club website.

“I’m not sure what the gaffer is going to do with his selection but hopefully I will get my chance against Forest and I’m just itching to get out there really.

“Obviously it was disappointing not to play against Peterborough but I totally understood the reasons behind that and I couldn’t really argue with it.

“Overall I thought the lads did well and maybe could have won it in the second half. We were putting a lot of balls into the box and, as a striker, that is what you like to see.

“Hopefully if I get my chance to play I can get on the end of a couple of those crosses. I’m certainly looking forward to getting started with Ipswich and I see it as an exciting challenge.”
