Town boss Mick delighted with his players but admits they can't take their foot off the gas
Mick McCarthy admits it is pleasing to see his side ‘gradually improving’, after Blues moved out of the bottom three with a win over Nottingham Forest last night.
Goals from Guirane N’Daw, Luke Hyam and Daryl Murphy sealed the victory for Town, with Dexter Blackstock replying for the Reds.
The Town boss praised his players for their performance but has also warned them not to get complacent, with Blues making the trip to Bolton on Saturday.
“We are gradually improving I feel, which is of course pleasing to see,” Mick told the Club website.
“Although we only drew with Peterborough on Saturday, I thought we were a lot better and the result and performance last night was obviously a big improvement too.
“It was a fantastic result and it’s great to be out of the bottom three but, listen, we can’t get complacent as we could be back in there with a defeat on Saturday.
“I’ve told the lads not to take their foot off the gas and if they work as hard as they did last night, then we’ll win more games then we’ll lose.”
