BOSS ON LOAN BENEFITS

8 October 2012

We want young players but situation dictates says Paul

Paul Jewell accepts that bringing in loan players is not ideal but has told the Club website that it is necessary given Town’s start to the campaign.

Blues added Richie Wellens, DJ Campbell and Bilel Mohsni to the squad last week to take the tally of loanees at Portman Road to seven.

“Bringing in loans is not ideal, I know that but it’s the situation we find ourselves in,” the Town boss told the Club website.

“We’re not flush with millions of pounds to just go out and spend on whoever we want.

“We keep talking about this being a long term project, though I know that doesn’t wash with a lot people and I understand that. We’d like to go with younger, hungry players but until we can get a foothold in this division and move forward to a stronger position, we have to go with experience.”
