Players we have brought in are winners and have vastly improved the squad says boss
Paul Jewell feels that he has added some ‘leaders’ to his squad as Town return to Championship action at the weekend.
Blues travel to Hull on Saturday boosted by this week’s captures of former West Ham and Aston Villa skipper Nigel Reo-Coker as a free agent and Stephen Henderson, on loan from West Ham.
The duo take the recent arrivals at Portman Road to five, with Richie Wellens, DJ Campbell and Bilel Mohsni all joining on loan just before the international break.
“There is a bit more about us now with the new lads coming in,” the Town boss told the Club website.
“Carlos [Edwards] is our captain, and we’ve got Luke Chambers as well but there are more leaders amongst the group now. Richie is a good talker, Nigel has skippered clubs wherever he has been. We’ve got Danny [Higginbotham] at the back and he’s another one, another leader.
“At the start of the season we had a lot of young lads and they are going to be good players but we have got some men in the squad now, players who have been around the block a few times.
“It doesn’t guarantee you anything but the players we have added are winners and they have vastly improved the squad.”
