Chris calls for everyone to pull together ahead of Wednesday clash

Chris Hutchings has called on his players to get the fans behind them when Blues take on Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday.

Town sit at the bottom of the table, one place below the Owls, with Chris in caretaker charge of the Club following the departure of Paul Jewell on Wednesday.

While he wants the players to receive the full backing of the Blue Army, the former Wigan, Bradford and Walsall boss says the players have to earn that support.

“There is only one way for us to go and that’s up,” Chris told the Club website. “We need the fans behind us but I’m a great believer that the players have to get the fans behind them, give them something to get behind.

“ If the supporters see you giving everything for the cause, win or lose you can’t ask for more.

“This is a massive game for us. They all are at the moment but especially given the fact that we are bottom of the table.

“I have spoken to the players. They know what I want from them. We’re in a fight. And we will fight fire with fire.

“We have to have everyone going in the same direction, players, staff, supporters. In the situation we are in now, we have to be as one.

“It’s a big challenge for everyone. For me, the staff, the players. Every game is like a cup final when you are at the bottom of the table and we have to approach it like that.”
