BOSS PLEASED WITH CHARACTER

1 September 2012

But Paul wants to see Town see out games

Paul Jewell praised Town’s character after his side fought back from a goal down to share the spoils against Huddersfield.

Luke Chambers cancelled out Adam Clayton’s early goal and Michael Chopra put Town ahead before James Vaughan levelled the scores. Vaughan had the chance to win the match but his penalty was superbly saved by Scott Loach.

“We could have won it, we could have lost it,” the Town boss told the Club website.

“The players showed a lot of character to come back from a goal down though. We were the better side in the first-half but our Achilles heel showed again with their first goal.

“Then when we were 2-2, Chops [Michael Chopra] hits the post and 10 seconds later they win a penalty. That’s us at the moment. We have got to get to the position where we can see out games from winning positions.

“It was definitely a penalty, no argument with that but it was a fantastic save from Scott. He made another good save straight after that will do him the world of confidence.”
