Paul sees draw as positive after sharing spoils with confident Tykes

Paul Jewell said it was a point gained at Barnsley rather than two lost despite being ahead for much of the game.

Aaron Cresswell gave Blues a sixth minute lead from a free-kick but the Tykes levelled 15 minutes from time through a Stephen Dawson volley.

“I felt we frustrated them in the first-half and we defended well,” said the Town boss.

“It was a well worked free-kick for Cressy’s goal, although their ‘keeper might have been disappointed with it.

“They are a good side, Barnsley, though and after last week’s 5-0 win at Birmingham, they were full of confidence. That showed in their play in the second-half.

“I have to look at it as a point gained though, rather than two lost despite us being ahead until the last 15 minutes.

“It was important that we stopped the run of three defeats. We were nowhere near our best but we’ll take the point and move on to the next game.”
