BOSS: WE HAVE TO STAND STRONG

22 September 2012

Tough times admits Paul after Town go down to Addicks

Paul Jewell admits it’s tough times for him and his players at the moment as Town suffered a third straight defeat, going down 2-1 to Charlton.

Goals from Johnnie Jackson and former Town loanee Ricardo Fuller gave the Addicks a two goal advantage before Jason Scotland’s deflected strike put Blues back in the game.

“We have been saying we have not had a lot of luck lately but when we get a bit of fortune with our goal, we never looked likely to really put the pressure on and get something from the game,” the Town boss told the Club website.

“In the games against Middlesbrough and Wolves, we did enough to have easily got something out of both matches but I can’t really say we did enough today.

“It’s tough times here at the moment and individually and collectively, we are not good enough at the moment. I include myself in that but you have to stand strong and deal with it.

“I know I’m not very popular at the moment but that’s the life of a football manager. I’m committed to doing my best and that’s all I can do – my best. I will never stop trying to do that. I’ve got belief in my own ability and will be back at work tomorrow, doing my best for this football club.”
