Hewitt set for first game in a Town shirt
Elliott Hewitt is set to make his first appearance in a Town shirt on Friday after being included in the squad for the U21 game against Cardiff.
The 18-year-old defender joined Blues from Macclesfield in the summer but operations on both his hips delayed his bow in a Town shirt past the start of the season.
“Elliott has worked really hard with the medical team since he’s been with us,” Town boss Paul Jewell told the Club website.
“He’s done a lot of work in the gym and over the last few weeks, he’s been out on the training field and has looked sharp.
“He’s only a young lad and one for the future but we have high hopes for him.”
Also included in the squad for the U21 Professional Development League Two South game is Guirane N’Daw, who was on the bench for the draw against Huddersfield after joining on loan from St Etienne for the season.
Ronan Murray, Joe Whight and Byron Lawrence are in line for a starting role, while Nathan Ellington is one of the three permitted over age players.
Kick-off is 11am at the training ground.
