Surgery put on hold for now as striker looks to beat the op

Paul Taylor is expected to be out of action for six to eight weeks at least – and it could be a lot longer.

The 24-year-old striker sustained a broken bone in his foot against Wolves and saw a specialist about the injury yesterday.

“We have been told there are two scenarios, he might need an operation is one and if that is the case it will be a long term injury,” Town boss Paul Jewell told the Club website.

“The other possibility is that he is out for six to eight weeks and we see how his recovery goes. The specialist has said we should go down that route first.

“Obviously we want to avoid surgery if possible but it will be down to if the injury heals during that time frame. If it does then great, if it doesn’t then he will be missing for much longer than six weeks.”
