Striker to be assessed ahead of Charlton visit

Town are waiting on the fitness of Paul Taylor for the weekend’s game with Charlton, after the striker was forced off with an ankle injury during last night’s defeat to Wolves at Portman Road.

The recent signing from Peterborough was replaced by Jason Scotland midway through the second-half and was due to have a scan this morning after leaving Portman Road on crutches last night.

“Tayls left the ground on crutches last night and he was due to have a scan first thing this morning,” the Town boss told the Club website.

“We are still awaiting the results of that scan so we should know a little bit more on that front in the not too distant future.

“He’s had quite a hefty kick on the ankle and it’s become quite swollen. As I said, he left the ground on crutches and that’s obviously not what we wanted to see.”
