Paul sees chances spurned again as Town go down to Wolves

Paul Jewell said his players have got to stand up and come out fighting after watching his side go down to Wolves at Portman Road.

A freak own goal from Tommy Smith and a 25 yard drive from Tongo Doumbia gave the midlanders the points after Blues spurned several chances again.

“We created a number of good chances but we missed the target again and I seem to be saying that every week at the moment,” Paul told the Club website.

“Without a shadow of doubt we deserved something out of the game but I can sense the nerves are there from the first whistle.

“We just can’t seem to get that first goal that will give us a springboard to go on and win a game. We are not lifting the crowd and giving them a reason to really get behind us.

“We have to keep battling away though. There is no hiding place in football when you are not winning games. We have got to stand up and be counted and keep fighting. We’ve got another game on Saturday here against Charlton and we have to go again.”
