Mick satisfied with Easter return after draw at the Den

Mick McCarthy was happy with the four point return over Easter following the goalless draw at Millwall.

The strong wind and a bumpy pitch didn’t help the game but both teams had chances to take all three points.

“It was a poor game but the conditions had a part to play in that,” said the Town boss.

“It was a good point though and we’ve had a decent Easter with the three points against Leeds as well. Some teams have had better, some have had worse.

“The four points is a good return despite the fact that we are now only three points off the relegation places. That’s this league for you, it’s bonkers.

“We’ve been down there all season and now it’s probably dawning on Millwall that they are in a relegation scrap as well, being only a point above us.

“It was a nervy game because we are both fighting to stay up but there were lots of chances. We could have won it, we could have lost it but we’ll take the point.”
