Left-back delighted with his stunning strike but insists getting the three points with his teammates was the sweeter feeling

Aaron Cresswell admitted he is unlikely to score a better goal than the one he rocketed in tonight but insists that the most pleasing aspect was Town securing three points this evening.

The left-back scored a goal of the season contender in between two strikes from Frank Nouble, as Blues comfortably beat Crystal Palace 3-0 at Portman Road.

Now the former Tranmere man is calling on Town to secure their Championship status with another win at Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday.

“That was a much needed win for us,” said Cressy in an exclusive interview with Ipswich Player.

“Not all the results went our way tonight but as long as we keep ticking along, we’ll be alright I think.

“From the off I thought we started well and we dealt with their wingers well. Then it was a case of keeping patient and all the goals came in a crazy spell just before half-time.

“I’m pleased for Frank to get his two goals and obviously I’m delighted with my strike. I don’t think I’ll hit another one as good as that for a while but the main thing was getting the three points and the dressing-room is buzzing now.

“We want to keep this momentum going into Saturday’s game and hopefully record another win.”
