Ronan, Jack and Joe among group not to be offered new deals

Five Town youngsters will not be offered new contracts for next season.

Ronan Murray, Cormac Burke, Joe Whight, Jack Ainsley and the Academy’s Gunnar Thorsteinsson have all been told they will be released by Blues in the summer.

Ronan, who has made one start and 13 sub appearances for Town, scoring once, is currently on loan at Plymouth.

Jack has made eight appearances for Town but has not featured under Mick’s reign at Portman Road and is on loan at non-League Chelmsford for the rest of the campaign.

Joe, who has been on the bench twice this term but has not played at first-team level, is also on loan at Chelmsford while Cormac was a late substitute in the Capital One cup victory over
Bristol Rovers on the first day of this season, his only appearance for Blues.

Iceland U21 international Gunnar has completed his Academy scholarship but will not be offered professional terms.

"They are all great lads but they need to go out and play," Town boss Mick McCarthy told the Club website.

"I've told them that they won't be good enough for my first-team and that they won't be offered new deals. I hope they go on to prove me wrong and make careers for themselves, but right now they need to go out and play regularly for their development."
