Blues stopper draws the plaudits for penalty save but is quick to praise his teammates after last minute Edwards winner at Derby
Scott Loach was quick to praise his team-mates after Blues beat Derby County thanks to Carlos Edwards’ last minute winner.
The Town stopper had earlier drew the plaudits after he kept out Jamie Ward’s first-half penalty, before skipper Carlos netted in injury time to see Mick McCarthy’s side take all three points.
“This was a whole team performance and it shows how much hard-work we put in throughout the week,” Loachy told the Club website.
“I’m delighted to save the penalty but you’ve also got Carlos popping up with a screamer at the other end, Tabby (Jay Tabb) throwing his body on the line to make a block from a free-kick, Tommy (Smith) and Chambo (Luke Chambers) willing to head a bus if need be and you could see the rest of the lads all working their socks off.
“It’s a real team effort and we’ve highlighted that with the performance and effort today. This is a massive three points for us.
“We’re not safe yet and we won’t be until it’s mathematically sorted but there’s no denying that this is a massive win for us.”
