Town fourth best points return in Championship since Mick's arrival
Last night’s win over Crystal Palace made it 49 points from 30 games played under the Blues’ boss, who marked his first game in charge of the Club with a 1-0 victory at Birmingham at the start of November.
Only Cardiff , just promoted to the Premier League, Hull , who look set to join them and third placed Watford sit above Town in the table taken from results since the start of November.
“That first win against Birmingham helped us get off to a positive start,” Mick told the Club website.
“We played well and fought our corner. It worked, the way we played and it helps your credentials when the players see that. It helps them believe in what you are saying.
“We got slapped at Palace and Leicester after that. That may have been a legacy of struggling before but the players bought into what TC and myself were doing on the training ground day in, day out.
“We worked on the shape of the team, defending one on one, two on two, defending as a unit.
“The players have been great. They must take a lot of credit for what they have done but as I have said, there is still work to be done before we are mathematically safe.”
