Town's U13s go down 4-1 to Barcelona but remain in good spirits ahead of Espanyol clash as Spanish adventure continues

The trip has been funded by former Town midfielder Kieron Dyer, whose son Kie is in the U13s squad, and sponsors Chelmsford Plastic Warehouse, Elite Renewables, WS Finance Consultants Ltd and Suffolk New College.

The youngsters take on Espanyol tonight in another friendly before returning to the UK tomorrow.

“Being out here is all about education. Education for the boys, education for the staff.”

“Boy did we see some talent in their side as well. There were some terrific young players out there but our lads competed well.

“It was a great exercise for the boys and for our Academy coaching staff as well,” Milts told the Club website.

The Spanish side came out on top 4-1, watched by Academy manager Bryan Klug. Coaches and former Academy players themselves, Adem Atay and Liam Manning, were also in attendance, as was Academy sponsorship manager Simon Milton.

Town’s Academy staff got a close up look at some of the most talented youngsters in Spain as Blues U13s took on Barcelona last night.
