BOSS ON TAYLS' RECOVERY

27 August 2013

Paul still coming to terms with injury says Mick

Paul Taylor was on target from the penalty spot for the U21s in the defeat by Brighton on Monday.

The striker converted a second-half penalty but a very young Blues went down 3-1 to the Seagulls.

“Paul asked to play in the U21s and he will be better for playing,” Town boss Mick McCarthy told the Club website.

“He’s a very talented player and we have seen flashes of that but then he will go out of games as well. That’s down to his injury. He’s had 11 months out and I think he is still coming to terms with that.

“The operation he’s had has changed his bio-mechanics, the way he runs but it’s about fitness with him. As I said, he’s been out for a long time and he needs to build those fitness levels up.”

Meanwhile Town’s U18s went down 4-3 to Brighton on Friday.
