TOUGH PILL TO SWALLOW

17 August 2013

Chambo disappointed at 90th minute QPR winner but believes it's now time to look ahead to Leeds on Saturday

Luke Chambers confessed that there was a disappointing feeling in the Town dressing-room, after Tom Hitchcock notched a last minute winner for QPR at Loftus Road.

The Blues had performed well throughout the 90 minutes and had chances of their own, before striker Hitchcock came off the bench to score the only goal of the game.

However, Town defender Luke believes there are positives to be taken from the performance and is now focussing on Saturday’s clash with Leeds at Portman Road.

“We are all very disappointed, of course,” Chambo told the Club website.

“To have performed really well all afternoon and to then concede in the 90th minute is a tough pill to swallow.

“We put in all the effort, hard-work and discipline in keeping our shape and then one long-ball sees them get in behind us and we’ve ended up conceding from it.

“So it’s a very disappointed dressing-room at the minute but we’ve got to take the positives from the game and look ahead to Saturday now.

“We’ve performed well in every match, I think, but we’ve just got to cut out giving away sloppy goals and allowing teams to get in the game.

“Once we do that I think we will start to push on up the League and that’s where we want to be.”
