Cresswell, Wordsworth and Hyam all injury doubts ahead of the Blues' opening game of the season at Reading
Mick McCarthy has confirmed that Aaron Cresswell, Anthony Wordsworth and Luke Hyam are all injury doubts for Saturday’s Championship opener against Reading.
Left-back Cresswell has a thigh strain, whilst midfielders Wordsworth and Hyam are struggling with calf and groin strains respectively.
The trio will all be assessed before the weekend, with the hope that they can travel to the Madejski Stadium with the rest of the squad.
“Cressy has been struggling with a thigh strain and he had to come off against Notts County (last weekend),” the Town boss told the Club website.
“He’s a concern, a doubt and will be looked at on Friday. If he’s fit then he will play, but we will have to wait and see.
“Woody’s a doubt, Luke Hyam has had a problem with his groin and he didn’t train today. We’ll have to wait and see with Luke.”
