Tommy Smith delighted with point as Town extend unbeaten run with Murphy on target
Tommy Smith was delighted to see Town stretch the unbeaten run to seven games following a 1-1 draw with Bournemouth at the Goldsands Stadium.
Daryl Murphy fired Blues in front just before the hour mark before Brett Pitman came off the bench to ensure a point for the hosts.
Despite being pegged back by the Cherries, Tommy was delighted with what he labelled as a ‘great points’ as Town moved into the Play-Off positions.
“It’s a great point and Bournemouth’s home form has been good this season,” Tommy told the Club website.
“It stretches the unbeaten run and we’re going into games full of confidence. All the lads are looking forward to the next game, and they are coming thick and fast at the minute, and ‘bring them on’, we say.
“Obviously we would have liked to have taken all three points, having gone in front, but it’s a good point and it keeps the moment going ahead of the game against Charlton on New Year’s Day.
“We’re sat in the top six now which is great to see but we’re only at the halfway stage. We’ve got a lot of games to play yet and the challenge now is for us to stay there.”
