Tayls back in action but Blues go down

Town went down to two second-half goals at Crystal Palace.

The Eagles struck on 73 minutes when Sullay Kaikai’s long range effort took a deflection off Matt Clarke and beat Scott Loach in the Blues’ goal.

Dwight Gayle completed the win for the hosts three minutes from time when he scored from a free-kick.

Blues fielded Paul Taylor, back in action after recovering from a shoulder injury and illness, Anthony Wordsworth, Freddie Veseli and Tyrone Mings alongside Loach.

Jordan Graham, on loan from Aston Villa, also featured in front of Town boss Mick McCarthy.
