Richard looking for Town's improved defensive record to continue

Richard Stearman is looking for Town to continue the improved defensive record when Blues take on high flying Leicester at the weekend.

The Wolves loanee has been part of a defence that has only conceded three goals in the last five games and held firm to take a point at Huddersfield last weekend.

“As a back five I think we are looking pretty solid, but you have to give credit to the other lads in the team too,” Richard told the Club website.

“The strikers are defending from the front and all the midfielders are putting a real shift in too.

“Although we went to Huddersfield with the intention of winning the game, on the face of it I think we need to be happy with the point and a clean sheet.

“It’s the third clean sheet we have had lately and we need to look to continue that against Leicester on Saturday.

“I know the club well having spent 10 years there and they are in the frame for the Play-Offs at least so we know it will be a very difficult game but we are looking forward it to and I think the lads want to make up for the defeat we had there earlier in the season.”
