Carlos disappointed to see his side slip to home defeat to Watford but impressed by 'ruthless' Hornets
Carlos Edwards believes Town can have no complaints at losing to Watford, after being beaten by the better side on the night.
Mick McCarthy’s side slipped to a 2-0 home defeat with a goal in each half from Ikechi Anya and Nathanial Chalobah securing the win for the men from Hertfordshire, despite Tommy Smith seeing a goal chalked off for offside which would have levelled the scores.
The Blues skipper, whilst disappointed not to build on Saturday’s win over Blackpool, admitted the Hornets were arguably the best side to come up against Town this term and that the second goal killed off any chance of a Town comeback.
“Watford are a quality team and that showed in their performance tonight,” Carlos told the Club website.
“They took their chances when they had them and were just that little bit more ruthless in front of goal when we were.
“They were very organised and one of the best sides we’ve played this season, if not the best. We kept knocking at the door but the second goal killed the game off.
“We have to dust ourselves down now and look ahead to Saturday’s game (against Huddersfield).”
