BOSS WARY OF FAMILIAR FOES

8 February 2013

Mick on the threat from goalscorers DJ and Rhodes

Mick McCarthy is well aware of the threat presented by two familiar faces to Town fans in the Blackburn attack.

DJ Campbell, who had three months on loan at Town, has joined Rovers on loan from QPR until the end of the season and could make his debut against Blues at Ewood Park tomorrow alongside Jordan Rhodes, who progressed through the Club’s Academy before joining Huddersfield in 2009.

“Jordan showed what a good finisher he is against Bristol City last week,” the Town boss told the Club website.

“He was out of the game for long periods then pops up with a goal, just like a goalscorer does.

“DJ is the same in many ways. You think he is having a quiet period and then the ball is in the back of the net.

“Charlton away was a typical example of that. He missed the penalty, drifted out of the play a bit and then pops up with a goal.

“He is our leading scorer and was fabulous for us. We would have liked to have kept him but it was never a deal that we could do.

“It looked like he was going to Hull, now he’s at Blackburn and good luck to him. He’s a terrific lad.”
